یہ ہیں شاتیال (Shatial) کے پیٹروگلفس (Petroglyphs) — گلگت بلتستان کے علاقے میں قراقرم ہائی وے پر واقع وہ نایاب چٹانی نقش و نگار، جو 10,000 سال پرانے ہو سکتے ہیں، یعنی قبل از تاریخ (Stone Age) سے تعلق رکھتے ہیں۔

جب انسان نے پہلی بار بات کرنا سیکھی — پتھروں کے ذریعے

اس دور میں نہ کاغذ تھا، نہ قلم۔ زبان بھی شاید مکمل نہیں بنی تھی۔ لیکن انسان کے اندر اظہار کی پیاس تھی — اور اس نے پتھروں پر نقوش، تصویریں، علامات بنا کر اپنی کہانیاں، اپنے عقائد، اپنے خواب اور خدشات کو محفوظ کر لیا۔

شاتیال کے یہ نقش و نگار ہزاروں کی تعداد میں پہاڑوں پر پھیلے ہوئے ہیں، جن میں شامل ہیں:

(10,000-year-old human stories on the soil of Pakistan)

This picture apparently shows a beautiful scene — a rocky path laid at the foot of the mountains. But if you look closely, these stones are actually pages — of a book that man wrote with his own hands thousands of years ago.

These are the petroglyphs of Shatial — those rare rock carvings located on the Karakoram Highway in the Gilgit-Baltistan region, which may be 10,000 years old, that is, belong to prehistoric times (Stone Age).

When man first learned to talk — through stones

In that era, there was no paper, no pen. Language may not have been perfected either. But man had a thirst for expression — and he preserved his stories, his beliefs, his dreams and his fears by making impressions, pictures, and symbols on stones.

 These Shatyal carvings are spread across the mountains in their thousands, including:
